EXCERPTS FROM PEOPLE’S DAY TO DAY CONVERSATION

1.

MOTHER:
“Learn to sing and learn to play
Also study in such a way
That, when results come out in the month of May
We all can stay
Happy and Gay.”


SON (STUDENT)’s REPLY:
“But, I am already happy and gay
Watching films of stalwarts like Ray
Who wants to “learn” to play?
I very well know the playing way.

Singing comes naturally to me
Studies? For the time being let it be!
I am at the moment nice and free
Waiting to participate in Fest number three.”

2.
TEACHER:
“Tomorrow you have a class test.
For that I wish you All the Best.
Syllabus is chapter 1, 2 and all the rest
Don’t dare you be absent, lest
The punishment would be severest.”


STUDENT’s REPLY:
“Tomorrow we are conducting the fest.
We will attend and welcome the guests.
So, no problem if you hold the test.
It will be written by the rest.

As it is I wont come here.
On record I will be present there.
So, since I will not be “absent”
I will also not get the punishment”
